Singer, M. (2010). Mirror, Mirror. New York, NY: Dutton.

Summary:

The book contains poems of different types of fairy tales. The poems contain a new twist version to the regular poem. The author wrote the poem, and they rewrote the poem sorting it from the bottom of the poem and then working their way up to the top of the poem. This technique allowed for different perspectives for the author to write the poem. It allowed the author to do something different from the traditional form of writing the poem.

Strength:

The book uses a fun way to show the new techniques of "reverso" poetry. It helps the children understand that when something terrible happens, they tend to focus on the problems instead of trying to change their situation.

Goodreads Choice Award Nominee for Picture Book (2010)
