Ringgold, F. (1995). My Dream of Martin Luther King. New York, NY: Crown Publisher, Inc.

Summary:

She has always been a dreamer, but only with her eyes open. She rarely remembers her dreams when she sleeps. All that changes one day while she watched Martin Luther King, Jr in T.V. It was a dream that she would never forget. She dreamt martin as a child, and there was a lot of people of many colors, races and religion going upstairs singing and old hymn. Then Martin was left alone except for his closest friend and the friends' mother. They were all standing in the steps of the school, and the mother of the friend told Martin to go away because the school was for white children. In her dream, she sees Martin suffering from desegregation everywhere he went. He fought for the freedom of his people to be free and have the same liberty as everyone else. He fought till the end of his days.
