Curtis, C. P. (1999). Bud, not Buddy. New York, NY: Delacorte Press.

Summary:

Bud is a ten-year-old boy who was leaving in a temporary home after being motherless. The only thing Bud thing for him was a suitcase, his rules, and the clues that his mom left him. With the flyers that his mom left, he got his things and decided to travel to find his father. He had no idea who the mystery man was, but he grabbed his bags and left on a journey. Bud went through a lot of problems but still never gave up. There was nothing that could stop Bud from reaching his goal.

Strength:

It teaches students never to give up. The book helps the students see the determination a little boy has to find his father. After being alone and being mistreated, he never gave up and kept fighting. The book was funny and had a lot of good characters. This book will be delightful for students and any reader.
