Draper, S. M. (1994). Tears of a tiger. New York, NY: Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing Division.

Summary:

Andy Jackson was a high school student at Hazelwood High Tigers School. One night after a basketball game, Andy and two friends went out to party and drink. They decided to leave the party, and Andy drove drunk. While he was driving, there was a tragic accident that killed his best friend, Robert Washington. After months of therapy, counseling, and talking to his girlfriend Keisha, Andy would still blame himself for the death of his best friend. No matter what he did to heal and forget about the accident, Andy was consumed by guilt. One day he couldn't take the blame any longer and took his own life leaving behind more hurt.

Strength:

This book gives a story about how the wrong decision had a lot of consequences. This book would be suitable for students to read because it teaches Family should be there for one another when one of their own is suffering, Family is critical when a child is suffering and needs a shoulder to cry on. This book is a good read, and it is a beautiful story that will break your heart and make you cry.
