Bishop, N. (2008). Frogs. New York, NY: Scholastic Inc.

Summary:

Frogs can be found everywhere in the world except Antarctica. They live in many different places near the water. No matter if the frog is big or small, they are always easy to recognize. There is some confusion about the difference between a frog and a toad. The toad is a kind of frog that has shorter legs. Most frogs are found near a body of water. Frogs do not drink water they absorb through their skin. Frogs also breathe through their skin, which they shed, and once they shed, they usually eat the skin. The frog’s eyes are large, which helps them spot food faster. Frogs use their tongues to catch prey. A frog’s life is all about eating. Some frogs are so poisonous they can kill up to ten people. The female frog protects and defends their eggs and tadpoles at any cost. Frogs come in every color, size, and shape.

Strength:

This book can go well with a science class. There are many interesting facts about frogs. Many students will like this book because of the pictures and the information it contains. This book is also suitable for a student who is researching frogs. The topic is fascinating even though it only talks about frogs. I even found this book to be fun and very educational.
