Bragg, G. (2011). How they croaked: The awful ends of the awfully famous. NY: Walker

Summary:

Death is something that people never really like to talk about, but it is something we all must face. When a famous individual dies, our human brain goes into curiosity, and we wonder how their deaths happened. At first, the medical care was not that great, so doctors didn't know how to cure sicknesses or even find specific illnesses. Now that medical care is more advanced, sicknesses can be cured and located at a faster pace. The deaths of the 19 famous individuals mentioned in the book show that people got sick and died in an ugly manner.

Strength:

The book allows the readers to look into the lives and deaths of famous people. It shows the readers that just because they are famous, it doesn't mean that they don't suffer hardships or don't have to die like every other human being. It opens the eyes to the reader to difference in medicine from the nineteenth century to now.
